SOE announces free transportation plan

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem today announced free transportation plan for Election Day.

As per the plan, Saneem said if voters are unsure of where they are voting, they can simply text their voter card number to 1500 and it will message them the location of the polling venue where they will be voting in this election.

He also explained that additional information to the 1500 platform has been added where voters who text their voter card number 1500 will now also receive notification of the person they can contact for the purposes of free public transport on Election Day.

“This means that if you are going to text a voter card number right now it will message you back instantly with your polling venue, as well as the name and number of the advisory counsellor who will be managing transportation to your venue on Election Day,” Saneem explained.

“This is to assist members of the public as you are aware we have released the free public transportation on Election Day plans to the members of the public on our website as well as to political parties already.”

“Now it’s a very detailed document which has got all the maps and all the locations for members of the public to go to and in this regard you can simply text your voter card number and instead of having to browse through this entire book, it will give you the name and number of the advisory counsellor and simply all you have to do is contact that advisory counsellor to know exactly the time around which the bus will be around the venue or your residence or maybe the carrier or minivan will be around near your residence.”

Voters are urged to text on 1500 to confirm the location of the place where they will be voting and on the same text they will get the number of the advisory counsellor that they can call in order to be able to know when the pre-public transport will be near their residence.
