Spiritual transformation for ex-rugby boss

Outgoing Fiji Rugby Union chief executive John O’Connor is putting away the rugby ball and picking up the Bible in his pilgrimage to dedicate himself to his faith.

After six years of dedicating himself to the administration of Fiji Rugby and building relationships within the rugby unions , O’Connor is now keen to build his own relationship with the higher power.

“One of our targeted focuses was to bring the unions together as we were very divided,” O’Connor said.

“I am happy that we were able to do that.

“But in the midst of all the challenges I found the Lord and started to become a devoted Christian.

“And that is one thing I want to focus on in this spare time and that is focusing on God’s work and his calling on my life.

In his final words at the desk of Fiji Rugby, O’Connor thanked and asked for forgiveness from the supporters of Fiji rugby.

“I thank all the supporters for the prayers and support; I seek your forgiveness if at times I have not met your expectations.

“Once more thank you and I hope you will continue to support Fiji Rugby.”
