Sponsorship boost for GRD celebrations

Pacific Recycling Foundation and Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited has received a sponsorship boost for the upcoming Global Recycling Day celebrations.

Pacific Energy Limited today handed over $10,000 to  for the celebrations which will be e held on 17 and 18 March, 2023 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort.

PRF chief executive Amitesh Deo said the long-term partnerships and strategic alliances remain the cornerstone for the sustainability of Pacific Recycling Foundation’s concepts in the waste management and recycling space.

“Principles such as accountability, transparency, shared vision, and proper and open consultative process guide our GRD partnership as we continue to work with current partners and welcome new alliances.”

Deo said Pacific Energy remains a committed partner of PRF and its core work, and their continued partnership towards GRD since 2019 is an expression of solidarity towards recycling, proper waste management, and those involved in this space.

“The fact that Pacific Energy partnered with PRF and WRFL since 2019 GRD when many did not even want to hear or talk about recycling and the lives attached to this industry, is a testament to the company’s commitment towards movement building.”

Pacific Energy South West Pacific chief executive Xavier Baronnet said they are dedicated to environmental sustainability, making Pacific Energy a sustainable brand.

Baronnet highlighted that it is important to ensure that they play an integral part in ensuring that the space they live in is sustainable.

“This collaboration will support both Pacific Recycling Foundation and Pacific Energy in implementing and facilitating initiatives as well as ensuring the organisations’ scalability. The partnership and ongoing support will also enable PRF to offer the envisaged sustainable programs to the community.”

Over 200 people are expected to be present at this year’s GRD celebrations where Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will be the chief guest.
