Fijiana targets Dubai 7s win

Fijiana 7s coach Saiasi Fuli says the aim at the first leg of HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series is to win the tournament.

Fuli said they had their eyes on winning either the Dubai 7s this weekend or the Cape Town 7s next week to set a platform going into next year.

“It is our objective to start well, and we will try to win one of these either Dubai or Cape Town,” Fuli said.

“It is a good tournament ahead in terms of how well we can start.

“To win the series, and end well we need to start proper.”

Fuli says with Japan, Spain and Ireland in their pool means that they will have to work hard to be at the top.

“With Japan, Ireland and Spain, it is not an easy pool, we need to prepare well, analyse our opposition and hope to give our best.”

The Fijiana 7s team begins its Dubai 7s campaign against Japan at 6.22pm tomorrow.
