Moceidreke, Sadrugu named in Cowboys squad

Fiji Bati extended squad member and winger Laitia Moceidreke and former Fiji 7s squad member Taniela Sadrugu have been named in the North Queensland Cowboys squad for the 2023 NRL season.

Moceidreke and Sadrugu were part of the Cowboys’ development squad however; Moceidreke made his debut for the Cowboys mid-season last year.

Sadrugu cemented his spot in the Cowboys’ top 30 list in August last year after an impressive performance with the development squad.

Mitch Dunn, who only played two games in 2022 after tearing his ACL, is listed to be ready to return for this season and given how highly regarded he is within the squad, will most likely be included to play at his first opportunity.

The Cowboys have lost some key personnel Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Thomas Gilbert and Connelly Lemuelu to the Dolphins while Ben Condon moved to the Manly Sea Eagles.

The Cowboys will play two trial matches in February ahead of the NRL season kick-off in March.

They will take on newcomers Dolphins on the 12th and the Brisbane Broncos on the 18th.

Cowboys squad: Scott Drinkwater, Kyle Feldt, Peta Hiku, Valentine Holmes, Murray Taulagi, Tom Dearden, Chad Townsend, Jordan McLean, Reece Robson, Reuben Cotter, Coen Hess, Jeremiah Nanai, Jason Taumalolo, Jake Granville, Griffin Neame, Mitch Dunn, James Tamou, Luciano Leilua, Helium Luki, Ben Hampton, Brendan Elliot, Gehamat Shibasaki, Jack Gosiewski, Jake Bourke, Jamayne Taunoa-Brown, Jordan Lipp, Laitia Moceidreke, Riley Price, Taniela Sadrugu, Tom Chester, Jai Hansen, Jodeci Baker-Tiraha, Ragarive Wavik
