Team Fiji GMs appointed for Pacific Games

Five general managers have been appointed to lead Team Fiji to the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands later this year.

Chef de Mission Ajay Ballu said after a long selection process through the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee Selection Justification Commission five general managers have been recommended and approved to help administer for Team Fiji.

The general managers are Wayne O’Connor, Anushil Kumar, Rosalia Fatiaki, Josaia Tuinamata and Doctor Jone Nasome who will also lead the medical team.

Meanwhile, Ballu has urged all participating national federations that are in need of aid in funding to reach out to the necessary revenues that are available.

“A reminder that FASANOC does not provide funding for preparation towards the 2023 Pacific Games, however national federations are encouraged to apply for funding and meet the required deadlines from the Fiji National Sports Commission for 2023,” Ballu said.

“I cannot stress the urgency of all NF’s complying with the FASANOC and FNSC timelines to ensure they will be considered for assistance.”
