Ba grouped with Rewa, Nadi for IDC

Defending champion Ba has been grouped with Fiji FACT champion Nadi, Rewa and Dreketi for the 2016 Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) which will be played at Suva’s ANZ Stadium next month.

The Men In Black were in a similar pool at the Vodafone Fiji FACT earlier this year and failed to qualify.

Battle Of Giants champion Lautoka is in Group with host Suva, BOG runners up Labasa and Nadroga.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel  after the pool draws of the tournament at the Courts Samabula Branch in Suva today said the two pools are well balanced and he expects all the teams to come out firing.

“IDC is the biggest and most awaited tournament of the year and we are expecting top level competition from the teams in all grades.”

“We are happy to bring the tournament to Suva and the final will be played on October 10- the original date of the final from yester years.  We will have a weeklong tournament from 5-10 October in Suva and all matches will be played for 90 minutes.”

“All the supporters should come out in numbers and make this tournament a success. I also wish to thank Courts and the Vision Group for its continuous support.”

“This is the 17th year of their sponsorship and Courts is our largest individual sponsor apart from the consortium of sponsors headed by Vodafone Fiji.”

Courts Fiji Limited Chief Executive PL Munasinghe said they proud to be associated with Fiji FA and sponsor the biggest tournament of the year which showcases talents in different grades and age levels.

He announced an increase in sponsorship of $5000 for the tournament and presented a cheque of $125,000 to Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel.

The winner of the Premier Division will receive $20000 and the huge IDC trophy while the runner up will get $5500. The losing semifinalists will each receive $1000.

The 2016 Courts Inter District will be played from 5-10 October.
