Suva to miss regular players

Suva will face leaders Lautoka in the Vodafone Premier League at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori tonight without some key players.

Skipper Nickel Chand who was sent off in the Battle Of Giants semifinal against Labasa will sit out of the match as he has to serve a two match suspension. He also missed the side’s match against Nadroga a fortnight ago.

Top goalkeeper Benaminio Mateinaqara and striker Samuela Drudru have moved to Lautoka in this window while defenders Jale Dreloa and Tomasi Tuicakau who have applied to join Labasa and Nadroga respectively will also not feature tonight.

Coach Gurjit Singh told FijiLive that they will give their best against the top two ranked teams in the competition despite missing the key starting players.

“Both games will be tough but are important if we are to remain in contention for the top spot. We have to register positive results and since the key players will not play, other players who have been in the squad and have been training for some time will get their chance to prove their worth and impress me before the IDC,” he said.

The Suva vs Lautoka match kicks off at 7.30pm.
