Vesikula ineligible for BOG semis

Rugged defender Jone Vesikula is not eligible to represent Lautoka in the semifinal of the 2016 INKK Mobile Battle Of Giants.

Fiji FA Competitions Manager Amitesh Pal confirmed this to FijiLive and said although the Blues have registered the former national and Ba rep, he will not be eligible to play until the new season.

“Our rules are very clear and even if he gets his international transfer clearance before the semifinals, he cannot play because he was registered elsewhere this season.”

“He will have to wait till the IDC to be eligible to represent Lautoka or any other team that he wishes to join,” said Pal.

Vesikula joined Lautoka last year and flew to PNG to strength Hekari United’s campaign in the 2016 OFC Champions League.

Singh’s Rental Lautoka will take on host and defending champion Rewa in the second semifinal at 4pm tomorrow.
