Suva bounces back, beats Nadroga

Host Suva bounced back and defeated Nadroga 3-0 in its second match of the 2016 Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) at the ANZ Stadium today.

The Whites with some tactical changes displayed a much improved performance and went up in the 19th minute when midfielder Filipe Baravilala’s attempt was buried into his goalmouth by Nadroga stopper Pramesh Prasad.

Nickel Chand doubled Suva’s advantage just before halftime after beautifully finishing a Ravinesh Karan Singh set up move.

Suva lost midfielder Madhwan Goundar and Waisake Navunigasau to injuries and suffered a further setback when defender Jale Dreloa was sent off following his second booking.

Nadroga Captain Gerard Voi was also sent off for misconduct on the field.

Former Navua rep Jesoni Takala who went on as a replacement scored Suva’s third goal in injury time to seal the important win.

Finance Pacific Suva now has 3 points after two matches while Nadroga has 1 points after completing two games.
