Nadi beats Labasa, remains on track

Reigning champion Nadi remains on course in the 2016 Pacific Cup after registering a 1-0 victory over Labasa tonight at Prince Charles Park.

New Zealand based guest player Christopher Clarke scored the lone goal of the fixture just before halftime as the Labasa defence failed to clear a Rusiate Matarerega attempt which deflected off a defender and landed into Clarke’s path.

Matarerega missed two good chances in the second half while Labasa despite toiling hard failed to go past goalkeeper Vereti Dickson who displayed a Man of the Match performance for the Jetsetters.

Nadi leads Pool A with six points and faces NZFFI All Stars in a repeat of last year’s final at 8.15pm tomorrow while Labasa is on a BYE.
