Rewa registers first win

Rewa registered its first win of the 2016 Pacific Cup in Nadi today, beating Auckland All Stars 1-0 in an exciting encounter.

Striker Iosefo Verevou scored the lone goal for the Delta Tigers in 22nd minute from the penalty spot after Sheik Moshin fouled Bruce Hughes inside the box.

Rewa was reduced to 10 players midway in the second half after replacement Taione Kerevanua was sent off following his second booking.

Auckland toiled hard for the equalizer but misses by striker Iwa Shaker and Mohammed Taslim Rahiman saw the Delta Tigers hold on for the important win.

Rewa faces neighbours Suva in its last match at 10.45am tomorrow while Auckland All Stars will feature twice against Suva and the USA All Stars.
