Singh to assist Rewa in OFC Champs League

Fiji’s most experienced coach Gurjit Singh will be assisting Rewa for the upcoming OFC Champions League.

Singh who has guided many districts to title wins on the domestic scene has vast OFC Champs League experience as well having coached Lautoka and Suva in the regional competition.

He also assisted Vanuatu champions Amicale as their technical advisor two seasons ago.

Speaking to FijiLive from the United States of America where he is currently on holiday, Singh said he was approached by Rewa to help them and agreed.

“They approached me to assist them for OFC Champs League and since I will be free after my holidays, I agreed to help them out.”

"Rewa is appearing in the OFC Champs League for the first time and it will be good to help them in the preparations.”

He also confirmed that he has made arrangements with Amicale FC boss Andew Leung to assist the Delta Tigers by releasing some foreign players to strengthen their campaign.

Singh and former national skipper Tagi Vonolagi will assist Marika Rodu as technical advisors.

“I have coached both Tagi and Rodu and it will be good to work with the two of them. We three have to work hard as competition is tough and Fiji clubs have to be well prepared.”

“I also agreed to assist them as I see Rewa President Nazeel Buksh as a man with vision and someone with great soccer knowledge. This makes the job of the coaches easier.”

Singh jets into the country at the end of the month and will join Rewa from February 01.
