Chand shines as Lions hold Nadi

Suva import Nickel Chand displayed a Man of the Match performance as Labasa came from behind twice to hold Nadi 2-2 in their Vodafone Premier League clash at Subrail Park today.

Both teams entered the field with no points and after pressing hard, Nadi managed to score the lone goal of the first half through Napolioni Qasevakatini in the 39th minute.

Chand who missed two good chances in the first half was able to find the back of the net after smacking in a volley in the 50th minute and leveling the scores.

Ame Votoniu put Nadi in front two minutes later after heading in a deep Rusiate Matarerega cross.

The Babasiga Lions managed to level scores again in the 77th minute after Chand neatly beat three Nadi defenders and placed the ball into the path of an unmarked Ratu Apenisa Anare who did not make any mistake with his first time attempt.

Labasa and Nadi both have a point each on the points table and play their next games tomorrow.

The Jetsetters will take on Dreketi at 1.30pm while Labasa will play Rakiraki at 3.30pm.
