Dreketi makes winning start in VPL

Dreketi kicked off its campaign in the 2017 Vodafone Premier League with a 3-2 comeback victory over newcomers Rakiraki at Subrail Park in Labasa today.

Rakiraki started off well and went ahead in the 13th minute through the boots of former Ba striker Ronald Lawrence.

However a penalty in the 23rd minute saw Dreketi level scores through nippy marksman Vilikesa Sowani.

Joseph Elder scored just before halftime to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.

Sowani leveled the scores midway in the second spell and former Lautoka rep Charles William netted the winner for Dreketi.

The two teams return to action tomorrow at the same venue with Dreketi facing Nadi at 1.30pm and Rakiraki coming up against Labasa at 3.30pm.
