7 new players included in national team

Seven new players have forced their way in the 22-member Vodafone Fiji national team for their international friendly match against Indonesia in Jakarta next week.

New Zealand based striker Shravan Sharma is leading the pack of the new names that have been selected after one week of intense training and fitness drills at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

Rewa’s Tevita Waranaivalu, Misaele Draunibaka, Ba duo of Josefata Neibuli and Narendra Rao, Suva defender Epeli Leiroti and Labasa’s Jonetani Buksh are the other players that have made the final cut.

Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna will Captain the side while veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau and defender Remueru Tekiate have been appointed the Vice Captains.

The team departs for Indonesia on Tuesday and will play an international friendly against the Indonesian national team on September 2.

They will then play Persiga, a top League team in Jakarta.
