Blues thump Rewa, end VPL unbeaten

Lautoka ended the Vodafone Premier League unbeaten after thumping Rewa 4-0 in the last match of the season at Ratu Cakobau Park today.

Lautoka led 1-0 at the break with a goal to midfielder Zibraaz Sahib.

Sahib netted another goal in the second half and two further goals from Mohammed Shameem and Sekove Finau wrapped up the big win, and more importantly an unbeaten run for the Kamal Swamy coached side.

The Blues end the competition with 40 points after registering 13 wins and one draw throughout the season. The 1-1 was against the now relegated Rakiraki side in the first round.

Lautoka wins $20,000 and will represent Fiji as the top qualifier in the 2018 OFC Champions League.

The Sugar City side will be accompanied by second finishers Ba to the regional competition which is expected to commence in March, 2018.
