Champs Labasa drawn in tough pool

Defending champion Labasa has been drawn in a tough pool for the 2017 Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) which will be played at Churchill Park in Lautoka from October 10-15.

The Babasiga Lions are in Group B with last year’s runners up Ba, 2017 Fiji FACT and Battle Of Giants champs Rewa and Dreketi.

Host Lautoka is in Group A with neighbours Nadi, Suva and either Tavua or Seaqaqa.

The pool draws of the IDC were conducted at the Courts outlet in Lautoka today.

Meanwhile the prize money this year has been increased following the presentation of an increased $130,000 sponsorship cheque by Courts Fiji Limited to Fiji Football Association during the draws.

The Premier Division winner will now receive $22,000 while the runner-up will walk away $6000 richer and the losing semifinalists will get $1000 each.

In the Senior Division, the winner will get $7000 while the runner-up will receive $2500 and the two losing semifinalists will be awarded $500 each.
