Nabenia nets double in Ba win

Midfielder Samuela Nabenia scored two goals as Ba defeated Dreketi 3-0 at Govind Park today to keep their OFC Champions League hopes alive.

The win extends Ba’s points to 25 after 12 matches and keeps them in the second spot on the standings with two matches remaining against Lautoka and Labasa.

Ba led 2-0 at halftime with Nabenia netting both the goals and hardworking left midfielder Meli Codro sealed the win with the third goal midway in the second half.

The match ended Dreketi’s campaign this season.  The Northerners have 7 points on the table and will now wait for the result of Rakiraki’s remaining matches against Suva and Labasa.

Rakiraki has 1 point and will need to win both matches by big margin to relegate Dreketi.
