Rawasoi penalty saves Tavua

A second half penalty by Marika Rawasoi saved Tavua in the first leg of the Vodafone Senior League final as the gold miners held Northern champs Seaqaqa 1-1 at Garvey Park today.

The Northerners led 1-0 at halftime after Taniela Rakariva netted a beautiful goal midway in the first half.

Tavua will now need a win in the away leg to win the Senior League and its place in the Premier Division from the Courts IDC while Seaqaqa with an away goal, will just need a goal-less draw to become the third Northern district in the top division.

The second leg will be played at Labasa’s Subrail Park at 3pm on Saturday.
