Lautoka to host a tourney in 2018

Inter-District, Champion vs Champion and Vodafone Premier League winner Lautoka will host a major tournament next year.

This was announced during Design Engineering sponsored Blues’ celebration at the Fiji Sugar Cane Growers Council hall on Saturday night by Fiji Football Association President Rajesh Patel.

The specific details of the tournament will be announced by the Fiji FA Board of Control soon.

Mr. Patel commended the players, officials and their families for a wonderful effort.

“You all deserve to be thoroughly acknowledged for your hard work throughout the season. Lautoka has the ingredients of a good team and it was only fitting that you won the IDC title on home soil.”

“I must commend the able leadership of your president Abdul Kadar who looks after the welfare of the players and this has culminated with a fine season. I also want to thank members of the Lautoka women’s fan club that has contributed immensely towards the success of the team.”

He urged the team to maintain its fine form and wished them all the best for the upcoming Pacific Cup in Auckland next month and the 2018 OFC Champions League.
