Fijian Drua outclassed in NRC semifinal

The Fiji Airways Drua was outclassed 57-21 by Queensland Country in its semifinal clash of the National Rugby Championship in Australia yesterday.

The Senirusi Seruvakula coached side made a poor start and conceded a lot of penalties and possession which saw them trail 26-7 at halftime.

Prop Vesi Rarawa scored the lone try for the Fijians in the first half and fullback Apisalome Waqatabu successfully converted.

Rarawa scored two more tries in the second half and Waqatabu successfully converted both but the hosts were just too strong in all aspects of the match and managed to cruise their way into the final.

Discipline was again a contributing factor for the Fijians in their loss as prop Kalivati Tawake and backline player Eroni Sau were sin-binned in each half.

Queensland Country will play Canberra Vikings in the grand finale at 9.30pm on Saturday.

The Vikings defeated Perth Spirit 40-35 in their semifinal clash.
