11 teams for Veterans tourney

The annual RC Manubhai/Apco Coatings International Veterans tournament kicks off this Friday at Churchill Park in Lautoka with 11 teams taking part.

New Zealand Labasa is the lone overseas based team that will compete for the $4000 prize money up for grabs for the winner in the three day tourney.

Host Lautoka Masters head Pool A with Nasinu Masters, Ba Legends and Rakiraki Western Legends.

Pool B has NZ Labasa, Suva Masters, Tavua Masters and Lautoka Veterans while Pool C has defending champion JK Nadi Veterans, Rewa Masters and Nadroga Stallions.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel said the main motive of the tournament is to reunite the stars of yester years and promote healthy living amongst them.

He also stated that the funds raised from the tournament will be diverted to a welfare account that assists children of the former players meet their educational needs.

Tavua Masters and Lautoka Veterans will clash in the first match at 1.30pm on Friday.

Pool matches will conclude around midday on Saturday and the quarterfinals will commence at 6.30pm.

The semifinals will be played on Sunday morning and the grand final which will also be a curtain raiser to the final of the 2018 INKK Mobile Battle Of Giants will commence at 2pm.


Friday: 1.30pm- Tavua Masters vs Lautoka Veterans, 2.20pm- NZ Labasa vs Suva Masters, 3.10pm- JK Nadi Veterans vs Rewa Veterans, 4pm- Ba Legends vs Rakiraki Western Legends, 4.50pm- Lautoka Masters vs Nasinu Masters, 5.40pm- NZ Labasa vs Tavua Masters, 6.20pm- Rewa Veterans vs  Nadroga Stallions, 7.10pm- Suva Masters vs Lautoka Veterans, 8pm- Lautoka Masters vs  Ba Legends, 8.50pm- Nasinu Masters vs Rakiraki Western Legends, 9.40pm- JK Nadi Veterans vs Nadroga Stallions.

Saturday:  8am- Nasinu Masters vs Ba Legends, 8.50am- Lautoka Masters vs Rakiraki Western Legends,  9.40am-  Suva Masters vs Tavua Masters, 10.30am- NZ Labasa vs Lautoka Veterans. 6.30pm-Quarterfinals.
