Ba tops group, faces Nadi in semis

16-time winners Ba have booked their spot in the semifinals of the 2018 INKK Mobile Battle Of Giants (BOG) semifinals after topping Group B at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.

Despite losing 2-0 to Lautoka in their last pool match, the Men In Black progress to the semifinals with better goal difference.

Lautoka needed to beat Ba by 4 clear goals to progress but two second half goals to Dave Radrigai and Benjamin Totori were just not enough for the Blues.

Ba, Labasa and Lautoka all finished group stage competition with six points.

Ba and Labasa were equal on goal difference- +4 but under the direct encounter method whereby Ba defeated Labasa 2-0 in their group match, the Ronil Kumar coached side finished on top.

The traditional giants of Fiji soccer will now face Group A runner up Nadi in the second semifinal this Saturday at 4pm at Churchill Park.

The first semifinal will be contested between Group A winner Suva and Group B runner-up Labasa at 2pm.
