I value the green jersey: Suwamy

Nadi Captain Avinesh Warran Suwamy says he values and honours the green jersey is looking to give his best in the Punjas Battle of the Giants semifinal against Suva.

The 34-year-old former Ba and national rep who is also the joint top goal-scorer of the tournament with 3 goals; said his aim is to help the Jetsetters win the tournament.

“I am indeed proud and honoured to lead Nadi. I value, honour and respect this jersey.”

“This is a great team and we have a disciplined set of young and committed players and a wonderful coach and administrators.”

“I know a lot of my fans may not like to see me in this jersey, but I am loyal to the green jumper and will give my best. When I represented Ba, I gave my all and played with pride, and the same goes with Nadi,” he said.

Commenting about the semifinal, Suwamy said Suva will be tough to beat as they have a very strong team.

“We know Suva will prepare well to beat us. They have so many national players and players from all around the country. They will be very strong and we just need to focus on our game and maintain our good form.”
