Nasinu eager to topple champions Labasa

Giant killers Nasinu are eager to topple defending champion Labasa in their final Group A match of the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Sunday.

President and stand-in coach O’Neil Chand said the morale boosting 3-1 win over Suva has given them some hope and confidence.

“We did our homework well and played to the best of our abilities to beat Suva and now our focus is on beating Labasa and qualifying for the semifinals.”

“Last year we met them in the semifinals and lost but this time around, we want to beat them and take revenge.”

“He had lots of setbacks after our first game as we lost our coach and captain. But the boys held themselves strong and came back in style against Suva to win.”

“We may not have all the resources but we have the players who have the heart and guts to represent Nasinu. We believe in each other and work together as a team.”

Labasa has 2 points from 2 matches while Nasinu has 3 points and a win or even a draw could put them in contention for a semifinal spot.
