Rewa progresses to BOG semifinal

Rewa has booked its spot in the semifinals of the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants after thumping Navua 3-0 in its final Group B fixture at Churchill Park on Sunday.

The Delta Tigers fielded their strongest possible lineup and took the lead in the 24th minute via an Anish Khem goal.

17-year-old striker Josaia Sela scored their second goal with a clinical finish in the 40th minute.

Rewa led 2-0 at the break and midfielder Tevita Waranaivalu sealed the win for the Delta Tigers in the 68th minute with a powerhouse attempt which gave goalkeeper Josaia Ratu no chance at all.

Ratu picked up a knee injury and had to be replaced while Rewa Coach fully utilised his bench players in the last quarter of the match.

Rewa and Nadi qualify from Group B but the winner and runnerup will be determined after Nadi's clash against Lautoka at 4pm.

The Jetsetters have 6 points and will just need a draw to top the group.
