Suva beats Ba, qualifies for semis

Suva has qualified for the semifinals of the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants after beating Ba 1-0 in its final Group A match at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Sunday.

Defender Simione Nabenu headed in Suva’s lone goal in injury time of the first spell.

Suva needed a win to secure its spot in the semifinals and eliminate Nasinu.

The win sees Suva finish second behind Ba in Group A.

Ba will feature in the first semifinal on Saturday while Suva will come up in the second semifinal.

Their opponents will be Nadi and Rewa but the semifinal lineup will be confirmed after Nadi’s match against Lautoka.
