We had an effective game plan to win: Khan

Suva Coach Babs Khan says they had an effective game plan to beat Nadi in their semifinal clash of the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday.

Khan said his players were determined to win and he knew they were going to score in extra time as they were pressing hard and played more possession based football in the second half.

"It was a good and tough match but we came prepared. We did our homework well and did everything to contain Nadi. Our aim was to contain Number 2 (Avinesh Suwamy) and I think my players did very well to mark him and stop him from scoring."

"Now that we are in the final, that match will be different and a more tough one as Rewa is currently the best team in the country with some very fast and good players."

"After a good rest and recovery, we will plan for our final match. Obviously we would love to win as Suva has not won the BOG for sometime. It will be end the tournament with a win in the final."

"It will be a very good final and I can assure the Suva fans that we will give our best in the final," he added.

Suva beat Nadi 2-1 in extra time after both teams were locked 1-1 after the mandatory 90 minutes of the second semifinal.
