Nadi upsets champs Suva in DPL

Nadi created the biggest upset of the Digicel Premier League today after beating champions Suva 1-0 in their Round 4 clash at Prince Charles Park.

Striker Sakaraia Naisua netted the lone goal for the Ezy Kool sponsored Jetsetters in the 20th minute after taking full advantage of a mistake by Suva's central defence and slamming the ball beyond the reach of goalie Emori Ragata.

Unique Rubber Stamp sponsored Suva introduced Ni-Vanuatu marksman Alex Saniel, Mohammed Ramzan, Waisake Navunigasau and Merril Nand in the second spell to add spark to their attack but the hosts led by evergreen goalkeeper Vereti Dickson in goal did not make any mistake and had all their areas in defence covered well.

Naisua had the chance to double Nadi's lead in the 74th minute but was denied by the brilliance of Ragata who daringly dived and tapped the ball over the cross-bar.

Nadi finished the match with only 10-man after defender Ashneel Kumar was sent off  following his second booking.

Both teams have 7 points on the table after 4 matches.
