Fiji FA defers annual meeting

The Fiji Football Association's Annual Congress will now be held later this year, says chief executive Mohammed Yusuf.

Yusuf said the congress was to be staged soon but looking at the uncertain COVID-19 pandemic hovering Fiji, they had to adapt to a wise decision.

“We will hold the congress meeting this year but not any time soon. It will be held later this year and taking into consideration the pandemic, we had to make this decision. We don’t want to create any kind of chaos and it’s better to follow the instructions placed by the government.”

He also confirmed that more details will be revealed on Friday with regards to the Digicel Premier League and upcoming Digicel Fiji FACT which was to kick start from 14 of May.

He has urged the players and officials to stay safe and in their containment zones to avoid risk of COVID-19.
