Blues out to end Labasa's unbeaten run

The Lautoka football team is on a mission to end Labasa's unbeaten run in the 2021 Digicel Premier League.

Coached by Imdad Ali, the Viti Water Flow sponsored Blues are leading the DPL with 13 points and are just two points ahead of last year's runners up Rewa.

Ali said they will not underestimate Labasa and will need to beat the Babasiga Lions.

"We have set our target and that is to win the league. But before that our aim is to beat all the obstacles in our way. We have a mission and that is to beat Labasa because they are unbeaten."

"We want to play Labasa and flash their unbeaten run. We have to keep a strong attacking and defense. They will try to beat us and keep their record but we will follow our game plan and execute it on time."

"Well, I believe that as the lockdown is underway, it's the best time for players to see the areas they need to improve. We have spoken to the players and most of them are doing personal training at home."

"We can't just sit at home and do nothing, instead we have to take some early steps and prepare against Labasa. We can't take them lightly because they will obviously bring out a string team," Ali added.

The Lautoka vs Labasa clash will take place upon the resumption of the DPL.
