Fiji FA to offer counselling support

Fiji Football Association will offer counselling support players and officials who are facing psychological impact of the current outbreak of COVID-19 and the restrictions that are currently in place.

Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf says they have already been in contact with professionals who are willing to offer the service to the players and officials.

“The counselling service is basically to help the players and officials who are undergoing this difficult time. We know that it’s not easy to cope with such situation especially when players are not able to meet with their districts and train. It’s a hard time for everyone and counselling service is a positive option to take.”

Yusuf also mentioned that they are waiting for a green light to be given by the Ministry of Health to resume football activities and indicated that it might take them at least two weeks after an announcement to fully adjust and recommence games.
