Rewa midfielder Anish Khem is spending quality time with his one month old daughter Anshi in disguise of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Khem’s wife, Ashneet gave birth to their beautiful daughter last month and the family is currently coping well in lockdown.
“There can never be a better moment than the moment I saw my daughter Anshi. My wife has been the biggest support in my football career and now I also have my daughter.”
“Having Anshi makes me proud and it’s an amazing feeling to enter parenthood and I just cannot wait for things to normalize so I can get back on the field and play for my daughter and make her proud as she is growing.”
He said the current situation has not allowed the family to hold any function for the new addition and they are hoping to hold a celebration when things improve.
“She has added many reasons to our lives and is a bundle of joy for the family. Seeing her reminds me that I have a lot of duties lined up in life as a father, husband and footballer.”
The 27-year-old Vunimono Arya School teacher said he is utilizing his time well at home and dedicates at least two hours daily on his training.
“We just stay at home, watch movies and spend time with the baby during the day. In the afternoon, I begin my training from 4pm and try to sweat as much as I can. I do ball work, some aerobics and jogging around the compound.”
Khem added that he is also closely watching his diet and apart from family time and training, he also takes out time to communicate with his students and fellow teachers and stays abreast with the latest developments.
