Labasa pays tribute to its heroes

Labasa coach Ravneel Pratap has paid tribute to his eight reps in the Fiji Police Force working in the COVID-19 pandemic operation around the country.

Pratap said the police officers are away from their families and are safeguarding the nation from the deadly disease.

The eight reps are Akuila Mateisuva, Ilaisa Nayasi Vulimainavuso, Vikranth Chandra, Ratu Apenisa Anare, Ilisoni Lolaivalu, Sitiveni Rakai, Isikeli Ratucava and Iliesa Lino.

“We are not able to train and most of our players are part of the Force that is out on their duty to save the country from COVID-19 pandemic."

"We told the players to focus on their duty while they also have a role to play in the country being sportsmen,” he said.

“It’s their hard work and dedication that has been put at the forefront. Many of them have left their family and children to stay at the borders day and night to provide service and help the country fight the battle.”

“I really want to thank them and also all the other district reps who are part of the Force that is doing their best in serving the nation. This is the time that reflects their true sportsmanship.  We know it’s not an easy task but we are glad to have such reps in our team.”
