Navua to hone forwards department

The Navua football side will need to work hard on improving the forwards' department before their bottom-of-the-table clash against Nadroga.

The Southerners came out strong to upset Ba by 2 nil and held Nadi by 2-all at home.

Coach Amit Prakash said they will have to continue with their try scoring and a good combination from the forwards pack is really needed.

“The boys were able to give us two good score lines and I still believe that our forwards need some touch ups. The boys in the forwards line need to be fast and also at the same time they need to set up good combinations so that we are able to finish well.”

“For now I see finishing still a disadvantage because just recently we started scoring and we are scoring with narrow goals. The players are given enough rest and also have an opportunity to assess their own performance.”

“We know that Nadroga will come out for a win and will want to beat us. We also have to take early measures and prepare against them. We played with Nadroga a few years back and we know that it is not the same team.”

“Every team and players change over time but our current strategy is to remain content and work on our front line. We can’t afford Nadroga to get in our zone and score so to avoid that we have to put up a strong line of players.”

The bottom of the table clash between Navua and Nadroga will take place when sporting activities resume in the country.
