Wasasala suspended for two years

Suva Striker Christopher Wasasala has been suspended for two years due to disciplinary reasons.

Confirming this to FijiLive, Suva President Ritesh Pratap said Wasasala was given another chance but he re-offended and they were left with no choice but to suspend him.

"He has two cases. He was dropped and suspended for not abiding to the team rules and regulations. He was given another chance and recalled in the team but just within a week he re-offended."

"He has also been suspended by the national coach due to disciplinary reasons as well."

Pratap said Wasasala's suspension should come as a wakeup call for the other players and they will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline in the team.

“It’s the discipline of the players that speak of their game in a district and we always tell and encourage our players not to engage into any kind of activity that will ruin their career. Football is such a sport that players need to be very vigilant and be aware of the do’s and don’ts. We don’t want players to get on field or training with ill-discipline.”

Meanwhile the Digicel Premier League defending champions will face Ba when football activities in the country resume.
