Nasoko has sacrificed a lot, says Baber

Coach Gareth Baber says former skipper Kalione Nasoko has sacrificed a lot to make the 18-member squad for the Oceania 7s.

Baber said he has been monitoring Nasoko’s performance following his return from a knee surgery last year.

The Welshman believes Nasoko’s experience will be an added advantage and game by game he will position himself.

“Kalione has trained particularly well, has worked on himself, has sacrificed a lot to get him where he needs to and has been putting extra training to get that because he has not had the game time that some of the others have done.”

“It’s great to see him back to his leading best in training session. Not just in the field of play but also when it comes to conditioning sessions and leading the players on the standards where necessary in the group.”

“You know that’s what you get from senior players of experience. They know what has to be done consistently to get yourself to position of playing best rugby,” Baber added.

The PacificAus Sports Oceania Sevens will be held from 25-27 of this month in Townsville, Australia.
