We delivered average performances: Prakash

Navua Coach Amit Prakash says his side gave an average performance in the six matches of the Digicel Premier League.

Prakash said the players got the winning spirit after their 2-0 win over Ba in Round 5.

“I think we didn’t put up a good start but then we sort of moved from our comfort zone and did what we had planned. We made sure that the players got a good grasp of what was expected from them.”

“Yes, the pick-up point was the match against Ba when we defeated them 2-0 and we knew they would come out strong. But what we saw against them was they gave us a lot of opportunities and the boys took that and scored.”

He also mentioned the turning point for the Southerners was when they came from behind and held Nadi 2-2 in Round 6.

“It was not easy to understand the game plan Nadi had put in and we had to frequently go back and forth just to see their pattern. But it was in the dying moment when the boys woke up and scored the two goals.”

“Through the match against Nadi, we also got to know the areas we need to improve and again we have reminded the boys to work on their ball possession and other areas,” Prakash added.

The bottom of the table clash between Navua and Moshin’s Insulation Nadroga will take place when sporting activities resume in the country.
