Fiji FA assists Tavua, Rakiraki reps

Fiji Football Association has provided ration packs to members of the Rakiraki and Tavua (men and women) footballers who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tavua Football Association President Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Riyaz Mohammed thanked Fiji FA for its generosity and the much needed assistance.

“This is a very good gesture shown by our parent body as the majority players are unemployed or working with reduced hours. This will be a morale booster for players to dedicate their precious time for soccer,” he said.

Rakiraki Football Association President Jay Krishnan echoed similar sentiments.

“The assistance is timely as the situation is very dire in the district at the moment due to COVID-19 and the players are appreciative of the gesture as this will ensure the wellbeing of their families.

“The players have been impacted due to loss of employment and reduction in working hours for the majority of them and this has resulted in the players venturing out of the district in search of new jobs."
