Mateisuva, Drudru's application rejected

Fiji Football Association has rejected the transfer application of Labasa Captain Akuila Mateisuva and Ba marksman Samuela Drudru who were eyeing a move to Suva for the remainder of this season.

Mateisuva, who is yet to consider a goal in the Digicel Premier League was badly wanted by the Whites as they faced goalkeeping issues in their last eight matches.

Drudru, who was a star with Suva some seasons ago was eyeing a return with the hope of finding his lost form as he has not scored goals for the Men in Black for a while.

Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf had earlier stated that players who are assisted by their respective districts in the current COVID-19 pandemic will not be eligible to make a move in the mid-season transfer.

He said the players need to show some loyalty to their current teams and they can apply for transfer in the next window.
