Roy's dedication keeps him on top: Gamel

Former national football Coach Christophe Gamel says Roy Krishna's sheer commitment and dedication to the sport is taking him places and he is thrilled to see more of him in the AFC Cup knockout stages next month.

The Frenchman told FijiLive Krishna continues to impress him with his level of professionalism.

"Roy is very professional in his game and has a very high etiquette on and off the field."

“What I like in Roy is that he is always trying to improve and when he is in the national team, he is a role model because he is very professional in his way of football and playing professional football is very hard," said Gamel.

Gamel, who worked with PSG in France before taking up the Fijian assignment said he is not surprised by Krishna's dominance in the Indian Super League.

"He has adjusted very well in the Indian Super League and has scored some amazing goals. He has also scored goals in the AFC Cup and I am expecting to see him score more goals and shine in the knockout stages."

"He was also very good in A-League where he showed consistency and continuity which means that he is a confirmed professional player at a really good level.”

“When I met him, Roy was very humble and always wanted to improve and develop more on the game through training and competitions. Discipline is always key for him. He always has total dedication in whatever he does and we get to see that in every match he plays.”

Game added that Krishna has set the benchmark for young footballers in the country as he had a humble beginning and worked very hard to secure his first overseas contract and did not look back from there and continues to shine and make more name for himself and the country as he matures.
