Blake scores in Eels victory

Fiji Bati centre Waqa Blake scored a try in Parramatta Eels' 28-20 dramatic win over the Newcastle Knights in the NRL qualifying final on Sunday.

The Knights shed the first blood through Enari Tuala, conversion missed but the Eels were quick in their response through Blake in the ninth minute and Mitchel Moses converted for a 6-4 lead.

Hymel Hunt stood up in the space of five metres and scored for the Knights for a 10-6 lead.

But the Eels were again quick in their response through slotting machine Mitchell Moses and Blake Ferguson but Moses converted once taking the lead by 16-10 at the breather.

Minor errors from the Knights gave away a chance to Ferguson to score again and Moses converted.

Knights winger Tuala bagged a hat-trick in the second spell but Jake Clifford could only convert once.

It was a last minute try from Will Penisini and conversion from Moses which sealed the Eels victory.
