2016 Rio Olympics Gold medalists Masivesi Dakuwaqa, Leone Nakarawa and Josua Tuisova have been named in the Flying Fijians 28-member squad for the Northern Tour.
Dakuwaqa, who is currently playing for Toulon in the French Top 14 alongside forward Nakarawa has been named at the back-row position.
Spending time with Toulon, Dakuwaqa has excelled at the openside flanker in the Top 14 competition.
He initially signed as a winger and donned the No.14 jumper earlier last year but now he attained the No.7 jersey with his impressive performance with the side.
His rugby transition from 7s to 15s is one that many are not familiar with except for Fiji’s Tokyo Olympic winning coach Gareth Baber.
Baber earlier in his interview mentioned that Dakuwaqa had to quit 7s due to work reasons but it was no later, when he received the French Top 14 contract.
The 28-year-old was also part of Baber’s 13 men at the Oceania 7s in Townsville in July.
The team assembles on the 31st of this month to start their preparations before playing Spain on the 7th of November in Madrid.
The Flying Fijians will travel to Wales to face the Dragons on the 15th of November before wrapping up the Northern Hemisphere tour against Georgia five days later. The venue and time is yet to be confirmed.
