I want to see more intensity: Serritslev

Digicel National Football Head Coach Flemming Serritslev says he wants to see more intensity in the remaining rounds of the Digicel Premier League.

Serritslev told FijiLive, the three matches had very low intensity levels and the games were not as physical as he expected.

“I watched the games and all I can say is that it’s not as I expected.”

“There was no intensity in the game however, in the Suva VS Ba match when the goals were scored then both teams started to attack or else it was a very slow pace game.”

“The Navua vs Nadroga match has very little physicality. I thought the match would get physical where players would show some skills and talents, however some things were missing in the game.”

“Both teams played their hearts out but there was no pressure in the game. What we as coaches want to see is how the players counter the ball with aggression and the foot works they display on the field.”

The Danish international is hopeful the remaining rounds of DPL will bring excitement and at the same time players will also bring about improvement in their game.

“There are seven more rounds and I believe players will make some changes in their attitude towards the sport and bring about changes in their game pattern. We are motivating all the players to keep reflecting on the past performance and see the areas they personally need to improve.”

“It’s always good to have some aggression and pressure in the game because that builds momentum in the match. It also helps us to see the players’ reactions to their game and how they display themselves,” Serritslev added.

In the DPL matches this week, Suva will play Rewa, Navua will host Lautoka while Nadi will meet Nadroga.
