Lami will miss three key players when they face Navua in the Digicel Futsal League at the FMF National Gymnasium tomorrow. Manasa Levaci, Kalisito Veikoka and goalkeeper Emori Ragata are preparing with Suva for their upcoming Digicel Premier League match against Ba and will not be available. Team President Praneet Reddy said while the absence of the trio will somewhat affect the side, he is confident they will maintain their lead. “The boys got back in training last week and we had to get all the players vaccinated first as we followed the health protocol. It has been a bit difficult for the boys to train after the six months period where we did not play.” “Basically the pandemic affected the fitness level of the players. They were doing personal training at home but we understand that it wasn’t enough.” “We are leading and our main focus is to keep going and delivering our best. We have finalised our line-up of strong players to face Navua tomorrow because they have come out strong this season.” “Players are expecting a tough battle against Navua as we have had close encounters against them.” After nine rounds, Lami is leading the competition with 17 points while Tailevu Naitasiri also has 17 points but is second due to goal difference. Suva is third with 13, followed by Navua fourth also with 13 points. Rewa is fifth with 12 points and Nasinu sixth with 12 points also while Northland Tailevu at the bottom with 3 points. Lami will meet Navua at 7pm. Lami: Kelvin Sen (GK), Isikeli Ratucava, Nemesh Ram, Jasnit Vikash, Amit Kumar, Mashooq Illiyaz, Ravneel Pal, Nikil Chand By Romeka Romena
