Serritslev expects tough competition

National Coach Flemming Serritslev is expecting tough competition in Round 7 of the Digicel Premier League this Sunday.

Serritslev told FijiLive that players will be eager to bounce back in the competition as they have been out of action for the past six months.

“I want to see intense competition. I want to see intensity in the games.”

“I believe intensity will be very high because players were held back for so long because of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“I as a coach always want to see competition but this time I want to see competition within a team and also at district level.”

“It’s not only about playing but about displaying what we have been doing your personal training on. From my understanding, players were given training guide by the districts and so they must have utilised it,” he explained.

The Danish International said players can also test their own fitness level and see where they stand this Sunday.

“Fitness and attitude will also be tested and players can test it themselves.”

“I want players to view their own physical appearance and the level they are at.”

“We know players have got some targets and we want them to achieve those this week. We want the players to make the games look interesting with their talents, skills and playing style,” he added.

Defending champions Unique Rubber Stamp Suva will meet Online IT Solutions Ba in the feature match of the round at the ANZ Stadium.

In other matches, Esy Kool Nadi will host Rewa at Prince Charles Park while Navua and Moshins Insulation Nadroga will battle at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour.

The Suva vs Ba and the Nadi vs Rewa matches will kick off at 3pm while the Navua vs Nadroga clash will commence at 4.30pm.
