2021 Futsal IDC will be competitive: Chand

Nadi Futsal team coach Vikash Chand says the inclusion of Rakiraki will make the 2021 Futsal Inter District Championship more competitive.

Chand said they have played Rakiraki in the Digicel National Futsal League Western Zone and are aware of the challenge which Rakiraki poses.

He added that last year they landed till the semi-final rounds but this year they want to reach the final.

"Rakiraki is a good team and they are dangerous at the same time."

"They have got a good set of players whom we have played against in the National futsal league."

"This year's championship will be more competitive."

"The competition will be tough and intense because both pools have tough teams."

"We want to improve this year. We ended our stay in the semifinal in the previous years but this year we want to better our game and also reach the final round."

"Like every team it's a dream to win the final and for that we prepared really well. We have changed the format of our game and also the way we approach each match.”

“Our only challenge was training facility which we did not have to prepare but we tried our best and player’s trained at different locations."

"Our biggest help was the league competition where we were able to scout out players who have great futsal potential in them," he explained.

Nadi will open its campaign against Lautoka on Thursday at 9.15 pm.
