Digicel National Football Head Coach Flemming Serritslev says players have stepped up in the training and are working very hard for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Serritslev said last week their focus was on strength and conditioning and this week their training will be based around positions and game plan.
He said there is a huge need to train in each position so that players remain consistent and tactful.
"I'm happy with boys. They are improving really well and have shown positive improvement after last week’s training."
"The start of the training was a bit difficult because we were out for some time and the players got back in camp and we had to deal with physical areas first. That took a few days and they turned things around and this time the boys came with a different mindset."
"Largely we are looking at quality and not quantity. We want players to take responsibility and also show their determination because they are spending a lot of time on training."
"The players know the importance of being consistent and we want them to maintain that throughout the training and during the trial matches. All the trial matches are important because that will determine players’ capability and the Fiji team going forward."
"Well, now they are at 60 per cent and by the time we complete the camp we want to see the boys in full fitness and play international level football and that's when we will achieve the 100 per cent target," Serritslev explained.
He also mentioned that the national team selection will take place next month.
