We need to find the spark, says Ali

Navua Coach Saiyad Ali says they will need to find their spark quickly before facing Rewa in their second Group A match of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Both teams lost their opening matches at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday but Ali is adamant the hurting Delta Tigers will come into the match with a point to prove.

“We have to work hard, and analyse ourselves, especially with a big team like Rewa next for us,” Ali told FijiLive.

“Rewa is a very strong side with a lot of seasoned national players, but we have a few more days to work on our weaknesses, so it is back to the coaching board.”

However Ali said his team would come into that match with confidence having tied with Rewa in their last meeting during the Digicel Premier League.

“That will give a lot of confidence and definitely we will move forward with a positive note.”

Speaking about their performance against Nadi, Ali said the Jetsetters were the better team on the day as they were laced with quality players who made the difference.

"They have got financial and football power, as well as quality players with good vision, and at the end they were the difference makers."

"That is something we lack in just some players upfront who can make goals and be the difference."

However, it was not a one way affair with Navua scoring two goals against the three times FACT champions.

"We scored two goals, which is something very good for my players.

"They were really fired up in the second half, but again the difference makers were Nadi."

Koromakawa Rentals & Tours Navua will take on Glamada Investments Rewa at 1pm on Thursday.
